Rena Sherel SOFER
Rena Sherel Sfer is an American actress.
She is best known for her roles in American daytime television, as well as
episodic guest appearances and made-for-television films. Sofer was given the
Daytime Emmy Award by CBS in 1995 for her performance as Lois Cerullo, the role
she played on the soap opera General Hospital. She has been acting as Quinn
Fuller since 2013 on CBS the soap drama The Bold and The Beautiful. Sofer was
born in Arcadia, California, the daughter of Susan Sofer, a psychology
professor, and Martin Sofer, a Conservative rabbi. After her parents divorced
and her family moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1970, Sofer and her
brother David and father to Teaneck in New Jersey. At the time, however, Sofer
was five years old, they resided in Western Pennsylvania. The family was based
in Ambridge Pennsylvania where their father was the director of Beth Samuels
Jewish Center. She was a student at the Frisch School, an coeducational Mordern
Orthodox Jewish highschool in Paramus (New Jersey). Sofer was raised in North
Bergen where her father was the synagogue's rabbi Temple Beth El. She completed
her studies at North Bergen High School, after which she attended classes at
Montclair State College. Sofer was the first person to perform as Lois Marie Cerullo
at General Hospital. In 1993, she worked as managing a band. However, her first
role was as Rocky McKenzie in the daytime soap opera Loving (1988-91). Perhaps
her most well-known role is that of Lois Cerullo, a nurse on General Hospital
from December 15 in 1993 to September 24 in 1996. Later, she was guest-starring
on the show (February 7-17 1997 from September 30th through October 2, 1997).
Sofer was recognized with the Daytime Emmy Award 1995 for Outstanding
Supporting Artistress in Drama Series for her role as Lois. In May 2013 it was
announced Sofer would join the CBS soap series The Bold and the Beautiful with
a brand new role as Quinn Fuller; her first episode aired on July 12. Sofer has
appeared on several popular prime-time television shows in a supporting cast
member or guest star role: Seinfeld, Melrose Place, The Chronicle, Ed, Friends,
Spin City, Blind Justice, Ghost Whisperer, 24, NCIS, and Two and a Half Men.
