Rita Ora is a British artist and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter , born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. At the age of one, her family made the decision to move to the United Kingdom. Her birthplace was in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School at Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing in the early years of her life. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. She was chosen to audition for Eurovision: Your Country requires You as a British contestant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However, she pulled out of the contest after just a few episodes because she didn't feel like she was ready. Her first music release came in 2007 when she featured on Craig David's song "Awkward" and later in 2008 on "Where is Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder. She also appeared in music videos. Ora started singing in bars throughout London. Roc Nation was informed by an A&R about Ora in 2009, just days after Ora traveled to New York and met Jay-Z. In 2009, Ora made a cameo on Jay-Z's music video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z noticed Ora and shrewdly signed her up with Roc Nation. She was featured in a commercial featuring Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was a pub owner and she began her singing performances from the same pub. She cites Gwen Stefani as a major influence on her demeanor, and No Doubt's "Don't Speak" (1996) is among her most cherished songs.Her 2016 video for Tezenis, The Silk Code, is the title of a novel which has won the Locus Award for Best First Science Fiction Novel of 1999.She was considered seriously for the role of Iris West in Justice League (2017) before Kiersey Clemons was cast. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran are close friends.
